I think it's a really good idea. My only suggestion would be to make sure that the wording/language of the information is at a level that the beginners will understand, especially if you are targeting both audiences. If it's too technical, only experienced divers will understand it.
Are you actually going to perform experiments about diving issues or just quote them? It seems a little difficult if you are actually performing them but it sounds interesting and helpful.
